Visual & UI Designer

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled UX/UI & Visual Designer to support the company’s software development, digital presence, and commercial communication. This is a cross-functional role requiring strong visual design expertise combined with an understanding of user experience. The position is mainly on-site at our offices in Carcavelos, Portugal, with day-to-day collaboration alongside engineers, project managers, and commercial teams. The successful candidate will deliver intuitive user interfaces, impactful visual communication materials, and high-quality digital content.

Visual Design for Documentation & Communication

Develop technical manuals, datasheets, user guides, and infographics to clearly communicate product features.

Create visuals and layouts to support commercial bids, tenders, proposals, and customer presentations.

Produce marketing materials including brochures, presentations, and event visuals.

UI/UX Design for Software Projects

Design, prototype, and implement user-friendly interfaces for software and system products.

Collaborate with engineers to ensure seamless integration of designs into working solutions.

Conduct usability reviews, testing, and refinements to improve product interfaces.

Digital Presence & Web Management

Maintain and update the company website, ensuring functionality, clarity, and alignment with corporate branding.

Implement design and content improvements for accessibility and usability.

Coordinate with internal teams to align website content with product launches and corporate communications.

Qualifications

- High school diploma with specialized UX/UI training, or a university degree in Web Design, Graphic Design, Multimedia, or related fields.
- Demonstrated experience in UI/UX design, visual communication, and website management.
- Proficiency in tools such as Figma, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Word and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Drupal, Joomla).
- Strong ability to translate technical content into clear, user-friendly designs.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across teams.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Desirable skills

- Experience working in a technical or engineering environment.
- Knowledge of branding principles and corporate identity management.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to balance creativity and functionality.

Location

The role is mainly on-site at our offices in Carcavelos, Portugal. Occasional flexibility for remote work may be considered, but day-to-day collaboration with colleagues is expected to take place at the office.
