Head of Sales
Position Overview
The Head of Sales is a pivotal leadership role within STRIX, an international biodiversity consultancy renowned for its focus on renewable energy projects. This role requires a dynamic individual capable of driving sales operations and strategies to achieve and exceed targets. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience from the consulting sector, alongside multilingual abilities and international experience, to navigate the complexities of global markets and cultivate strong client relationships in a company that is at the forefront of environmental sustainability and technological innovation in the renewable energy sector. The Head of Sales is a critical leadership role focused on driving the company’s sales operations and strategies to achieve and exceed sales targets. This individual will lead the sales team in executing sales plans, fostering customer relationships, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy and Growth Develop and implement effective sales strategies to meet and exceed sales targets. Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status.
Client Relationships Develop and maintain strong relationships with key partners, stakeholders, and clients to secure and expand business opportunities. Establish productive and professional relationships with key clients. Oversee the negotiation and closure of business deals, ensuring profitability and compliance with the company’s policies and objectives.
Performance Management Lead, motivate, and manage the sales team to achieve excellent performance levels. Monitor sales metrics and manage the sales administration process.
Market Analysis Stay informed of industry trends and technological advancements in renewable energy and biodiversity consultancy. Leverage insights from the consulting sector to inform sales strategies. Collaborate with the marketing team to identify and enhance customer acquisition. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts.
Communication and Leadership Represent STRIX in international forums, showcasing its innovation and technology development prowess. Foster a culture of excellence and innovation within the sales team.
Internal Relations and Responsibilities
Organizational Structure Reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer, ensuring clear and effective communication of department progress, challenges, and successes.
Team Management Has full autonomy in managing their team, encompassing staff selection, professional development, and task distribution. He will also oversee the management of leave and time off, as well as the implementation of reward and recognition systems, pending signoff from the CEO. This ensures that while he has considerable freedom in day-to-day and strategic team management, critical decisions regarding personnel benefits and recognition align with the company's broader policies and strategic direction as approved by the CEO. Is responsible for fostering a positive, innovative, and productive work environment.
Management Tools Utilizes management tools for resource allocation, defining and monitoring KPIs, and adjusting strategies and operations as needed. Holds authority to make decisions regarding service distribution, department budgeting, and investment in training and skills development.
Interfacing with Other Departments Collaborates closely with Biodiversity, Technology Development, and other relevant departments to ensure cross-departmental alignment and synergy. This includes coordinating on project proposals, aligning biodiversity strategies with technological innovations, and communicating the value of biodiversity considerations in project bids.
External Relationships and Responsibilities
Clients and Partners Autonomous in negotiating contracts, presenting results, and discussing projects with clients, suppliers, and strategic partners. This responsibility includes managing expectations, resolving conflicts, and fostering long-term, mutually beneficial relationships. Manages interactions with institutional financiers and other financial stakeholders, negotiating financing terms, reporting on project progress, and ensuring compliance with funding requirements.
External Representation Represents the company at conferences, workshops, and events related to biodiversity and renewable energy, seeking collaboration opportunities, sharing knowledge, and promoting the company's initiatives.
Decision-Making Autonomy
This position grants extensive autonomy in strategic and operational decision-making, both internally and externally, within the parameters set by the CEO or the Board of Directors. The authority includes the freedom to innovate in sales approaches, adjust strategies in response to emerging challenges, and explore new market opportunities that align with the company's mission.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree preferred. Specialisation in Consulting within
the fields of Biodiversity, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or related areas
preferred.
- Proven track record in achieving sales growth and leading a successful sales team, with
significant experience in the consulting sector.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills, with proficiency in multilingual
and multicultural environments.
- Proficiency in CRM and sales management tools, with a keen ability to analyse and deliver
sales performance metrics.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate the international consulting sector, leveraging industry
global insights for strategic sales planning and execution.
